Colors, backgrounds and covers

Appearance is free and does not change your score files. Start in Settings with “Colors, backgrounds and covers”.

  1. For the whole app choose Velvet, Ink, Nocturne, Smaragd or Custom. Under “Section themes”, choose another palette for an individual section or “Same as the whole app” to follow the app palette.
  2. Choose light, dark or system mode. Mode, pattern settings and default-cover style apply to every section; each section can have its own palette.
  3. Use a solid background, bookbinding cloth or bookbinding ornament. Adjust pattern intensity and size. Default covers can match the section theme; your own cover images keep their original colors.
  4. For a custom palette select a base theme, six-digit accent HEX such as #7C2944, neutral/warm/cool surface tones, and standard/increased contrast. Text colors adapt for readability. Applying an edit to the shared custom palette updates every area using it.
  5. Review the preview and choose Apply. Saved appearance stays active until then; leaving and discarding changes preserves it. Import first loads a profile into the preview; an unsupported file does not replace your settings.
  6. Export saved appearance through Android’s file picker. Reset all appearance restores the default palette, section inheritance, background and covers in the preview; choose Apply to save the reset.
  7. Reading remains neutral: patterns do not cover score pages, margins or gaps between pages. These controls style the library interface; neither your own covers nor musical pages are recolored.
